Kerry Washington is an American actress, producer, and director born on January 31, 1977, in Bronx, New York. She began performing during her school years and later graduated from George Washington University with a degree in performance studies.

Her breakout role was in the 2000 movie “Our Song”, after which she starred in the films “Save the Last Dance” and “Bad Company”.

She gained prominence for her performance in the films “Ray”, “The Last King of Scotland” and the TV drama “Scandal”, for which she received multiple Emmy nominations.

A well-known role of Kerry Washington is also the lawyer Anita Hill in the 2016 HBO film “Confirmation”.
